Postpartum Recovery Care | The Parenthood Project OC
Postpartum Recovery · In-Home · Orange County & Southern California

You were never meant to recover alone.

Deep in-home recovery care for your first forty days and beyond. Food as medicine, restorative bodywork, and the behind-the-scenes holding that finally lets your body rest, settle, and reweave.

Why this exists

Rest is not a luxury. It is medicine.

Across most of human history, a new mother was fed, kept warm, and tended, so she could do the one thing her biology asked for: sit in and be rewoven. Somewhere we lost that. This program gives the holding back, drawing on living traditions of postpartum recovery: the Chinese practice of sitting the month, Ayurvedic care of the sacred window, and Malaysian body care. Held in your home by our trained Orange County team, at the pace your body allows.

What it supports

Whole-body recovery, held as one thing.

After birth your body is doing an enormous amount of quiet work at once. We support all of it together, rather than treating any piece in isolation.

Your body

Abdominal, core, and pelvic recovery. Belly binding for your softened center, and guided movement once you are cleared.

Cesarean healing

Scar care and whole-body recovery shaped around the longer surgical arc, with support suited to a cesarean birth.

Blood and energy

Warming, mineral-rich, blood-building nourishment to replenish what birth asked of you and rebuild your reserves.

Milk and feeding

Lactation support and feeding guidance, plus foods that gently encourage supply, so feeding stops feeling like a puzzle.

Your nervous system

Somatic practices that move you gently from activation into a grounded, rested state.

The part no one sees

The emotional integration of crossing into motherhood. Repair where there was rupture, and co-regulation until self-regulation returns.

How it works

Focused in-home care, built around your rest.

Care arrives through focused two-hour in-home sessions, woven with ongoing guidance between visits, each one shaped to where your body and your baby are that week.

Reweaving

Our signature recovery ritual, and the heart of every container. Warmth, oiling, sealing, and rest that gathers a softened, opened body back toward wholeness.

Food as medicine

Prepared, warming, mineral-rich meals and snacks brought to your table, each with recipes so the nourishment continues after we leave.

Body treatments and binding

Restorative treatments and belly binding for the abdomen and core, adapted for vaginal or cesarean birth.

Nervous system support

Somatic practices, titrated to your capacity, that move you out of activation and back into regulation, so your body can settle.

Newborn and feeding

Unhurried guidance on feeding, babywearing, soothing, and gentle biology-first sleep shaping, at the pace you can absorb it.

Ongoing holding

Herbal teas and infusions, meditation and mindfulness, and steady support between visits, so you are never left alone with a 2am question.

The body's own timeline

Twelve weeks, the way tradition reads them.

The postpartum body moves through distinct seasons, and each asks for something different. It is why our containers are shaped in weeks, not visits.

Days 1 to 15

The Open Body

Warm, hungry, depleted. The channels are open, so cold and depletion are kept out with warmth, rest, and hot nourishment. The deepest healing of the year.

Weeks 3 to 6

Sitting the Month

The rebuilding season. Blood and energy restored, binding supports the softened center, supply finds its rhythm, and the belly begins to reknit.

Weeks 6 to 8

The False Finish

Western care calls six weeks cleared. Tradition calls it halfway. The core is still reknitting. Guided movement begins, gently.

Weeks 8 to 12

The Reweave

Deep tissue repair consolidates, strength returns to the center, and the nervous system settles. By twelve weeks, a well-held body is rewoven.

The containers

Choose the depth of holding you need.

Offered as containers, not itemized visits. Each is a complete arc of care over a season of your recovery. Every container includes the Postnatal Ritual Kit.

How the care is held

Designed by Jen. Held by trusted hands.

Your recovery is architected by Jen, who designs your season and holds the whole picture, and delivered in your home by our trained Orange County team. When a season fills, she places you with collectives she has personally vetted, and stays the person holding the arc. You are never handed a list and left to piece it together. You are held.

When you are ready

Let us hold the recovery, so you can hold your baby.

Book a consult and we will talk through your birth, your season, and which container or session rhythm fits. No pressure, no rush, and no cost. Just a real conversation about the care you have been missing.
