“The effort to separate the physical experience of childbirth from the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of this event has served to disempower and violate women.”
Mary Rucklos Hampton
Birth is not just an event.
It is a threshold — a profound crossing that reshapes the body, the nervous system, identity, and relationship.
The Threshold 1:1 container offers private, relational, nervous-system-attuned support across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum for those who want to be accompanied, not instructed.
This work is slow.
It is responsive.
It is built around trust, embodiment, and continuity.
There is no curriculum to “get through.”
There is a relationship that unfolds.
This offering exists for those who know they need:
Privacy rather than group processing
Continuity rather than episodic support
Attunement rather than advice
Space to explore what is alive beneath the surface
The 1:1 Threshold is not about doing birth “right.”
It is about staying in relationship with yourself across uncertainty, pressure, and change.
We work with:
The body & the nervous system, not just the mind
The body’s wisdom, not external authority
Integration, not performance
The Threshold 1:1 container exists for people who know they need privacy, continuity, and nervous-system-attuned support.
This is not coaching, training, or directive preparation. It is accompaniment.
The work centers the body’s wisdom and your internal authority.
We pay attention to how safety is experienced, how fear or pressure shows up, and how you stay connected to yourself when things feel uncertain.
Preparation is not about control — it is about relationship.
Sessions unfold in dialogue with what is alive in your body, your pregnancy, your relationships, and your inner landscape.
Some sessions may feel practical and grounding.
Others may be more reflective, somatic, or integrative.
The work adapts as you do.
This offering is for those who want to move through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with intentional support that honors complexity.
It is for those navigating uncertainty, healing past experiences, or seeking a deeper relationship with their body and intuition.
This container may not be a fit for those looking for prescriptive advice, rigid frameworks, or a transactional approach to care.
The Threshold is relational by design.
Each 1:1 Threshold container includes access to the full Threshold framework and resource library, along with personalized guidance shaped by your intake and ongoing needs.
The difference between containers is not the philosophy of the work, but the length of time we walk together.
Some people choose support that spans pregnancy and birth only.
Others choose continuity through early postpartum or the full first year of parenting.
Each container is held with clear boundaries and intention.
Threshold Foundations
Support from booking through birth
This container offers a grounded, contained preparation experience focused on pregnancy and birth. Sessions explore nervous system regulation, embodied decision-making, and preparation that prioritizes flexibility and agency rather than rigid expectations.
This path includes six private sessions and gentle between-session support.
The investment for Threshold Foundations is $3,500.
Private Threshold Preparation
Higher-touch support from booking through birth
This container is designed for those who want deeper emotional attunement and more consistent relational support during pregnancy. The work allows more space for integration, regulation, and navigating internal or external pressure as it arises.
This path includes ten to twelve private sessions, along with expanded between-session support.
The investment for Private Threshold Preparation is $5,000.
Threshold Continuity
Support from booking through three months postpartum
This container offers continuity across pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum window. In addition to preparation, the work supports integration after birth, nervous system recovery, early parenting rhythms, and identity shifts.
This path includes fourteen to sixteen private sessions and more immediate responsiveness during the early postpartum period.
The investment for Threshold Continuity is $10,000.
Extended Threshold Continuity
Support from booking through twelve months postpartum
This long-range container is for those who want accompaniment across the full arc of becoming — from pregnancy through the first year of parenting. The work supports ongoing integration, nervous system regulation, and adaptation as life continues to unfold.
This path includes twenty to twenty-four private sessions over the course of a year.
The investment for Extended Threshold Continuity is $15,000.
Relationship Over Results
This work does not promise outcomes. Birth unfolds in many ways. Postpartum is often more layered than expected. The Threshold does not aim to optimize or control these experiences.
Instead, the work offers presence, discernment, and support in staying connected to yourself — regardless of how the path unfolds.
Choosing Between Group and 1:1
The group and 1:1 Threshold offerings are distinct by design. Some people thrive in shared space and collective resonance. Others need privacy, pacing, and relational continuity.
Neither path is better. They are simply different ways of being held.
“Jen is an incredible person and doula. I was scheduled to give birth at the Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, and after much research I came across her profile and website.
Jen has beautiful energy and offers the upmost support, kindness, and love throughout the entire pregnancy and birthing experience. She was so committed and passionate in making my experience a beautiful one. She has to be one of the most dedicated doulas I have ever met. She is extremely patient and understanding. She cares deeply about her clients and goes above and beyond to accommodate their individual needs. She guided me throughout the entire process helping me with the challenges that come up with pregnancy, preparing me mentally, physically, and spiritually for labor, and assisting me in my recovery and post labor healing process. Much of our communication was virtual due to the pandemic, and I feel forever grateful that she helped me get through this pregnancy and labor during such difficult times.
Jen will help you and support you in every way she can. If it weren’t for her support, I would not have had such an amazing labor experience. It was truly magical. I highly recommend Jen to anyone who is expecting. She can assist you tremendously pre-labor and postpartum with all of the questions that come up being new parents, as well as alleviate many of the challenges that come during the recovery and postpartum stage.”
“Jen is amazing! I had the unmedicated birth I planned for with her support, and couldn’t have done it without her.“
Jen was my doula for the birth of my second child. I was determined to do a hospital VBAC with minimal intervention and Jen was instrumental in helping me design and realize my birth plan. I was immediately drawn to her confident and down-to-earth energy; I knew she was strong enough for me to lean on, but would not overpower my voice. I appreciated that she was was supportive of my evidence-based values but also challenged me to consider some of my choices in a different way. For example, she helped me get connected to more supportive midwife care at HOAG when I was experiencing some pushback from my original OBGYN group on my VBAC plans. During the birth, Jen felt like a stable pillar of support. I felt more confident in my own ability to have a low-intervention birth knowing she was there by our side. There was a point when I wanted to give up, but Jen held my hand through the pain and helped me find that confidence in myself again. I know my husband was also grateful for her steady leadership and guidance. Jen taught us some critical counter-pressure techniques and helped me advocate for things that made my birth experience more comfortable in the hospital setting (inflatable tub, laughing gas, etc.). Overall, I had a really wonderful birth experience with Jen by my side. I wish I had her with me for the birth of my firstborn.
